Our camps, leagues, and events are more fun than video games. We want to send your player home exhausted!
The activities will make your player more confident at the plate for that BIG hit and ready to make that BIG play in the field.
Players receive skill-specific instruction like sliding, bunting, base running, diving catches, and also participate in our 5-Pitch Challenge.
Using a pitching machine and slightly modified rules, this fast-paced approach to the game is fun and action packed. Each player has five pitches to get the ball into play, creating defensive chances that develop player skills and reactions.
The classic game that promotes eye-hand coordination, quick reactions, and is loads of fun. Two bases, two fielders, one tennis ball, and runners who try to constantly steal the bases.
Accurately judging velocity and distance of a fly ball just takes repetition. Stationary catching as well as angling are taught and safely practiced to build confidence for the next towering pop fly.
We see those graceful diving catches on TV and think they're easy. Mastering this skill requires complete concentration and a soft landing spot.
Awkward slides will be a thing of the past after this exercise. When was the last time you practiced sliding? Probably never but now you will.
All RGS camps and leagues are based on solid hitting. Instructors provide tips and tricks to get the ball in play to generate runs. At some events, players swing for the fences in a Home Run Derby.
Compared to a typical youth game that lasts 1.5 hours, our stats show that in 55-minutes, our 5-Pitch Challenge:
Doesn't that sound like more action? When the ball is in play, players get the reps they need to 1) win the championship game, 2) earn the “All-Star” designation and, 3) keep your player in the game.
Another diving catch for the highlight reel at Ballapawinnas. Nice catch kid!
No matter where you play, catching a pop fly is critical. Runner Gunner Slugger gives players the practice they need to get the out.
Every kid dreams of making a catch like this in a game. But, when do they get to practice a catch like this? Runner Gunner Slugger events give ballplayers the instruction and a soft landing.
We all see those amazing base runners sliding just under or around or over or...somehow avoid being tagged out. These mats help players learn the nuances of these moves. AND is it fun? Look at that kid's face-->
This game promotes a "ball first, base second" mentality that is so important no matter what position you play.
Awkward slides will be a thing of the past after this exercise. Campers first get the proper instruction, then they get to practice and practice and practice because it is FUN. Repetition makes the master. Good bye awkward slides. Hello stolen base!
Doesn't this look like fun? This is what our campers do when not playing 5PC. Learn to slide & avoid the tag. Over & over. It's hard to get them to stop this Slammer Skill. #AvoidTheTag #HeadFirst
We see those graceful diving catches on TV and think they're easy. Mastering this skill requires complete concentration and a soft landing spot. After campers are shown the proper instruction, they get to practice and practice and practice because this Slammer Skill makes them feel like their a pro. Repetition makes the master. #MakingTheBigCatchLookEasy
After years of observing youth ballplayers wandering off in thought during games, I asked my kids why they enjoyed playing video games more than baseball and softball. “Because the game never slows down” my daughter so eloquently revealed one day.
She’s right, the game can be slow and boring.
After doing a ton of research, I came across a stat that motivated me to action: The average major league baseball game contains just under 18 minutes of actual playing time. Attend a youth game and you’ll easily wonder if it’s even half that over the course of an hour and a half. No wonder these kids are bored.
The objective for the Runner Gunner Slugger Worldwide became crystal clear: remove the slow moments, and increase the action – just like a video game.
When the ball is in play, players get the reps they need to keep their mind in the game.
Having coached kids for over 12 seasons, I know kids learn technique easier when it's fun. This camp gamifies some of the key skills (Slammer Skillz) needed to excel at this game. When they're not competing in a game, instructors will teach technique so your player can make the next big play.
These are action-packed, development-rich, positively fun events. Your player will stay in the game longer.

You will meet new friends who are just like you. You'll play baseball, Pickle, catch pop ups, make diving catches, and practice sliding. Instructors are cool, fun, and friendly. No distracting parents. No pressure - just fun. Like summer camp should be.
These events were created for you.
We take all necessary and required precautions to stop the spread of Covid-19 amongst our players. Players are strongly encouraged to wear masks but will have their own shaded spot to store their gear so campers maintain a 6' distance. More details can be found on our FAQ pages.
Instructors will closely monitor activities and ensure campers are properly hydrating themselves.
All RGS events are drop-and-go but you'll be able to watch a live video stream from the comfort of your home. You can also download the app to keep track of your player’s performance.
When appropriate, you're invited back to join all of the campers for the Championship Game and when we recognize the individual players and teams for their accomplishments.
Our camps, leagues, and events are for softball and baseball players of all skill levels ages 9 - 13. Our mission is to keep kids in the game.
We took the boredom out of the game and replaced it with non-stop fun, non-stop action, and non-stop development. Players get to participate in skill-specific instruction like sliding, bunting, base running, diving catches, and more. When they're not receiving instruction, Campers play a game we invented called the "5-Pitch Challenge."
Each camp, league, and event starts with the National Anthem and a commitment to staying safe. We take all precautions necessary to stop the spread of Covid-19 amongst our players (see our FAQs page). We also try to sneak in "God Bless America" at some point too.
There are no spectators, but family members can watch the live video stream and access their player’s performance through our mobile app.
All RGS events end with an Awards & Recognition ceremony. We highlight the teams and individuals for performance and character traits (no, not everyone gets a trophy). When appropriate, we include a Championship Game that parents can attend so they can see why their player wants to attend the next event.
All Runner Gunner Slugger camps, leagues, and events are designed for kids. Whether your player is on a travel team or barely able to swing a bat, we guarantee your player will have a blast AND receive development that will encourage them to continue improving.
Your player needs this.
